Happy Happy

Despite coaching from his teachers and his dad, each time this week when David has been prompted to wish me a happy Mother's Day, he has responded with an enthusiastic "Happy!" or "Happy Happy!" A very Happy Happy it's been!

My Happy Happy included my very first Mother's Day craft ever! (Thank you, Miss Julie and Miss Fran.) It was accompanied by a marigold flower that David had lovingly been tending at school since seedhood. (He still hasn't given it to me. As far as he was concerned, it's his flower, and he's already tried to plant it in the middle of the front lawn where he wants it to "Grow now!")

I also received flowers from both David and Mary! They were tulips, the table was wiped off, and they were delivered by an adorable little kid named David who did not smell like cigarettes. (I refer you to an earlier post.) After using his play-dough scissors to "help" me trim the stems, David carefully put the flowers in vases all by himself. Mary wants to eat the flowers, but so far she hasn't been successful.

A Happy Happy to you too!
