Kirtland revisited

My aunt Marie was visiting over the weekend.  If you are a Mormon from Utah who comes all the way to Dayton, you might as well complete the pilgrimage.  So Saturday we girls--Mary, Marie, and I--drove up to Kirtland and back.

This time we made it inside the temple, though I ultimately skipped out on the tours both at the temple and the restored town.  Mary preferred climbing up and down stairs (any stairs) to quietly listening to tour guides.

Mary was a super trooper!  She wisely chose to sleep in the car the four hours up to Kirtland and the four hours back.  (A blessing that did not go unacknowledged in my prayers!)

It was a beautiful fall day in a lovely setting.  The kind of day that's perfect for sharing with loved ones.  And perfect for reflecting on the mercy, miracles, and love of God.
