Fast learner

Mary has learned from us (Greg, David, and/or me):
  1. to enjoy a bowl of granola with The New York Times (she and I fought over the front page this morning)
  2. that you eat bananas with the peel still attached at the bottom (otherwise it's no longer a banana)
  3. how to apply hand sanitizer and lotion
  4. that it is sometimes helpful to tattle on your sibling
  5. to enjoy her beverage (water) from a 32 oz. fountain drink cup
  6. that civilized people use bowls, plates, utensils, and napkins when they eat (they do not eat food slopped directly on the high chair tray)
  7. to blow her nose (if only every one-year-old could learn this!)
  8. how to guide train engines on tracks, through tunnels, and over bridges
However, the wearing of a pink tutu with a firefighter hat and a gardening glove is something she did not learn from us.
