David had a wonderful time doing bubbles with his former teachers, Miss Fran and Miss Julie. They were amazed by how tall he has grown this summer, and they were very congratulatory to our family on our big accomplishment of the summer.
And, of course, ice cream was eaten. David's was "brown." Greg and I were very pleased that the ice cream was from Young's Jersey Dairy Farm--yum!--and not the icky cheap stuff that one normally associates with big ice cream socials. (Thank you, Young's Dairy!)
The highlight for David was the train track painted on the black top. He raced (sprinted!) around and around it, blowing his whistle ("Woo-woo!") and shoving people out of his way. Heaven help you if you were standing on the tracks when this freight train came through.
