Nine-month-old Mary: The facts

  1. Mary wants in on the potty-training action in the bathroom. (Since David, a novice, has terrible aim, Mary's presence terrifies me.)
  2. Mary likes to sleep in her car seat, even at night. (Though she has just begun, this week, to discover the joy of sleeping all stretched out in her crib.)
  3. Mary will not eat anything she can't feed herself. ("Baby food" is out. She likes Cheerios, graham crackers, and garlic bread. Yes, Uncle Daniel, she takes after you.)
  4. Mary has no teeth. (But we think she's cutting one now.)
  5. Mary's great love in life is to chew on her brother's Crocs (to my horror).
  6. Mary's other great love in life is playing with my keys.
  7. Mary cruises, but she doesn't know it. So she prefers crawling. And she's really fast.
  8. Mary is in desperate need of another hair cut.
  9. Mary doesn't have to rely on her brother as much right now for entertainment. She can do her own thing.
  10. Mary is ever helpful. She just unplugged the mouse on my computer.
