"a summer day"

David declared today to be "a summer day."  It was a magnificent 55 degrees.  I can't blame him.

Here is our summer day, staring two little monkeys:
Monkey one:
And monkey two:
They played soccer:
Both of them, separate balls, of course:
And hung out on the fence, in preparation for being too cool to play kickball at recess:
These monkeys also got a trip to the bike trail:

Complete with the jumping off of rocks:
And a visit to the diet Coke machine:
Incidentally, Monkey One knows that his birthday is in the summertime, and with today being "a summer day," he figured his party must be imminent.  He spent much of the day in busy preparations for his birthday party.  He found some plastic spoons, festive bowls, bendy straws, and a single birthday candle, which he carefully hid in his bedroom lest Mary try to eat it.  Oh, little monkey, it's gonna be a long wait.
